Raspberry Pi enthusiasts searching for a project to keep them busy this weekend may be interested in a new portable Raspberry Pi Zero W system Which has been constructed using a with a Kindle Touch to create the aptly named, Kindleberry Pi Zero W mobile computer system, designed and built by Ben Yarmis.
Using a jailbroken Kindle Touch e-book reader the system just uses a Raspberry Pi Zero W connected to a portable battery pack via a USB connection and wirelessly connected to a Bluetooth keyboard and the Kindle Touch display. Providing a fantastically minimalist solution to creating a mobile Raspberry Pi workstation. Ben explains a little more about the inspiration behind the build :
I figured, since I have a Kindle sitting around doing nothing, a spare-at-the-moment Raspberry Pi Zero W, and a nice lazy long weekend ahead of me, I might as well see how far I can get with setting it up. Turns out, pretty far!
Built in just over a weekend plus an evening to iron out a few stray bugs that still existed, Ben has created a fantastic portable Raspberry Pi solution that can be taken almost anywhere and provide portable computing fun wherever he may be.
