Apple recently announced their latest financial results, which cover their second fiscal quarter of 2016 and the company also revealed that demand for their new iPhone SE is high and unable to meet their current supply.
Sales of the new iPhone SE were not included in their results as it launched near the end of their financial quarter, although overall iPhone sales were down on the previous year.
Apple CEO Timm Cook revealed that the company were unable to meet the current demand for the new iPhone SE, with the demand outstripping supply at the moment.
We’re thrilled with the response that we’ve seen on it. It is clear that there is a demand there even much beyond what we thought. That is really why we have the constraint that we have, said Apple CEO Tim Cook.
This doesn’t reveal how many units of their new iPhone SE Apple have sold, but it does give us the impression that sales of the handset are higher than Apple had expected.
We will find out how Apple’s new iPhone SE has helped their sales in their next financial quarter, it will be interesting to see if sales of the iPhone are also down next quarter as well.
