Apple launched their new iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus last Friday, both handsets have had a number of updates over the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. Last week we saw an unboxing video of Apple’s new iPhones. Now we have another of the two devices in action.
The iPhone 8 and 8 Plus get a number of upgrades, these include the new Apple A11 Bionic processor and of course a number of design changes that include a glass back. The handsets also come with wireless charging.
Design and Build Quality
One of the most noticeable changes in the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus is the introduction of a glass back, which not only gives the devices a premium look but also enables wireless charging. This design choice marks a significant shift from the aluminum backs of previous models. The glass is reinforced with a steel and copper structure, making it highly durable and resistant to water and dust with an IP67 rating.
The new Apple A11 Bionic processor is another major upgrade. This six-core CPU is designed to be more efficient and powerful than its predecessor, the A10 Fusion. It includes two high-performance cores that are 25% faster and four high-efficiency cores that are 70% faster than the A10. This makes the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus incredibly fast and capable of handling demanding applications and multitasking with ease.
Camera and Storage Options
The cameras on the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus have also seen significant improvements. Both models feature a 12-megapixel rear camera with a larger and faster sensor, a new color filter, and deeper pixels. The iPhone 8 Plus goes a step further with a dual-camera system that includes a wide-angle and telephoto lens, allowing for enhanced portrait mode capabilities and optical zoom.
In terms of storage, Apple offers the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus in two configurations: 64GB and 256GB. This provides ample space for users to store their photos, videos, apps, and other data without worrying about running out of storage.
Prices for the new iPhone 8 start at $699 and the iPhone 8 Plus at $799, both handsets come with a choice of 64GB or 256GB of storage. They also have updated cameras over the previous models.
Future Releases and Market Impact
Apple are also launching their iPhone X in November, the handset goes on sale on the 3rd of November and will go up for pre-order on the 27th of October. The iPhone X represents a significant leap forward in terms of design and technology, featuring an edge-to-edge OLED display, Face ID facial recognition, and the same A11 Bionic processor found in the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus.
The release of the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus, along with the upcoming iPhone X, positions Apple strongly in the competitive smartphone market. These new models are expected to attract a wide range of consumers, from those looking for incremental upgrades to those seeking the latest in mobile technology.
The iPhone 8 and 8 Plus bring a host of new features and improvements that make them worthy successors to the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. With their powerful A11 Bionic processor, enhanced cameras, and sleek glass design, these devices are sure to appeal to both existing Apple users and new customers alike.
