Apple will release three new smartphones this year, the iPhone 8, the iPhone 7S and the iPhone 7S Plus. All three handsets will come with a new design and new materials.
Apple are expected to use a stainless steel chassis in the new iPhone 8, they will also use a glass back in the handset. The same material are expected to be used in the iPhone 7S and the 7S Plus.
According to a recent report, the iPhone 7S will be slightly thicker than the existing iPhone 7. This is apparently because of the glass back on the handset.
According to German site Giga Apple, the iPhone 7S will be 0.1mm thicker than the iPhone 7. This is a minor difference between the two handsets and will hardly be noticeable. The information comes from a case maker for the handset and you can see the difference between the two devices in the diagram below.
Apple’s new iPhone 7S is expected to come with the new Apple A11 processor, it will also get a new design over the current device and some new features. We are expecting Apple to launch the handset along with the 7S Plus and their new iPhone 8 flagship sometime in September.
