During the highly anticipated Apple media event on September 9th 2014, Apple unveiled their new range of iPhone 6 smartphones which includes the new iPhone 6 with a larger 4.7 inch screen and the iPhone 6 Plus which offers an even larger 5.5 inch screen.
The new iPhone 6 Plus measures 158.1 x 77.8 x 7.1mm in size and weighs 172 grams and is equipped with a new 8-megapixel iSight camera with 1.5µ pixels offering Autofocus with Focus Pixels and a ƒ/2.2 aperture, together with Optical image stabilisation which is exclusive to the iPhone 6 Plus smartphone.
The new iPhone 6 Plus 5.5-inch IPS LED-backlit widescreen display provides users with a full Retina HD display and multi-touch support. As well as providing a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a 401ppi with 1300:1 contrast ratio.
The new iPhone 6 Plus display also offers 500 cd/m2 max brightness, dual-domain pixels for wider viewing angles and the new reachability feature. Apple have powered their latest smartphone using an A8 chip with 64-bit architecture supported by M8 motion coprocessor.
The new 8-megapixel iSight camera on the iPhone 6 Plus also provides users with the ability to record 1080p HD video at either 30 or 60 fps, as well as Slo-mo video at 120 or 240 fps. Together with a new Time-lapse video, cinematic video stabilisation, continuous autofocus video and the ability to take still photos whilst recording. Apple have also equipped their new phone with a 3 x zoom and video geotagging.
The new Apple iPhone 6 Plus will come supplied running Apple’s latest iOS 8 mobile operating system, and is fully compatible with the new Apple Watch which was also unveiled yesterday.
For the front FaceTime Camera, Apple has installed a 1.2-megapixel 1280 x 960 camera again with a ƒ/2.2 aperture offering 720p HD video recording and a Auto HDR for photos and videos with a backside illumination sensor, burst mode, exposure control and face detection.
As you would expect just like the previous iPhone 5 Apple has also included a Touch ID fingerprint scanner built into the smartphones Home button.
