Apple revealed yesterday that around 35% of their iOS devices are still running iOS 10. The company released their iOS 11.2.5 software update yesterday and we saw a number of videos of the release against the previous version of the software.
Now we have some more videos these ones put the older iOS 9.3.5 up against the new OS and there are also some videos of iOS 10.3.3 vs iOS 11.2.5. First up is a video of iOS 9.3.5 vs iOS 11.2.5 on the iPhone 5S.
As we can see from the video of iOS 9.3.5 vs iOS 11.2.5 on the iPhone 5S the handset running the the older iOS 9.3.5 software boots up faster than the device running the new OS. The older OS does also appear slightly faster in some of the apps. Next up we have the iPhone 5S with iOS 10.3.3 vs iOS 11.2.5.
As we can see from this video, the handset running the handset running iOS 10.3.3 booted up faster than the handset running the new iOS 11.2.5 software. The older OS also appears to be slightly faster in some of the apps. Next we have the iPhone 6.
In the video of the iPhone 6 the handset running the older iOS 10.3.3 software boots up faster than the device running the new iOS 11.2.5 software. Finally we have the two versions of iOS running on the iPhone 6S.
In the final video the iOS 10.3.3 software boots up faster on the iPhone 6S than the new iOS 11.2.5 software. There does not appear to be any major differences between the two in the apps.
From the videos above it looks like the older iOS 10.3.3 software is slightly faster at booting up. Although the latest version of iOS comes with the latest security updates, so it may be worth updating if you havent as yet just for the security updates.
