The other day developer Steve Troughton Smith discovered an iOS 8 split screen multitasking mode in iOS 8, as yet Apple has not announced that this feature will launch in iOS 8.
Now we have a video from Steve, showing off split screen multitasking in iOS 8 using an iOS simulator, have a look at the video below.
As we mentioned previously, when split screen multitasking is added to Apple’s iOS 8, you will be able to run two apps side by side in different proportions.
For example you could have two apps side by side taking up half of the screen each, or one app taking up three quarter of the screen and the other app taking up one quarter pf the display.
As Apple did not announce that they would be adding split screen multitasking to iOS 8 at WWDC last week, it isn’t clear if this feature will be available at the launch of iOS 8, or whether we will have to wait for a further update.
Apple have said that iOS 8 will launch this fall, we think it will become available in September, along with the new iPhone 6 and the Apple iWatch.
Apple are adding a wide range of new features to iOS 8, it is also getting deeper integration with Apple’s OS X Yosemite software.
