Apple’s new iPhone X is an expensive smartphone, prices for the handset start at $999. If you break the display on the handset it could en up costing considerably more than previous iPhones. A screen replacement which is a non warranty repair will cost you $279.
Apple will charge you this if the repair is out of warranty, a warranty repair cover manufacturing defects and does not cause things like accidental damage. Other our of warranty repair excluding the display are even more expensive, Apple will charge you $549 for these.
Not only is the iPhone X expensive to buy, it is also expensive to repair. Apple will not charge you these fees if you buy their Apple Care+ for the handset, this costs an extra $199 on top of the purchase price of the iPhone.
Repairs cost a similar price in other countries, in the UK the display with cost £286 and other repairs £556, In Australia the display costs $419 to repair and $819 for other repairs. These are considerably higher than what Apple has charged in the past for iPhone repairs.
Apple is obviously looking to encourage as many people as possible to purchase their Apple Care along with the new iPhone. The handset goes on sale this Friday, it is already sold out online for launch day and it is expected to sell out in Apple stores around the world later this week.
