The iPhone X went up for pre-order last Friday, the handset is being sold on Apple’s website, various mobile carriers and also a retailers like Best Buy. For some reason best Buy has decided to charge $100 more than Apple for the iPhone X.
Apple charges $999 for the 64GB model and $1,149 for the 256GB model. Best buy is charging $1,099.99 for the 64GB iPhone and $1,249 for the 256GB model. MacRumors reached out to the company and was given the following statement.
“Our prices reflect the fact that no matter a customer’s desired plan or carrier, or whether a customer is on a business or personal plan, they are able to get a phone the way they want at Best Buy. Our customers have told us they want this flexibility and sometimes that has a cost,”
As we can see from the statement, it does not appear that Best Buy has a legitimate reason to charge people more than Apple. Apple offers the same flexibility that the company mentions above. It looks like the company also charges an extra $100 for the iPhone 8 and the iPhone 8 Plus over Apple’s retails price.

If you are looking to order a new iPhone, Best Buy may not be the best place to order the handset considering the premium they are charging on the device.
