Rumors suggest HTC is working on another handset dubbed as HTC M8 Eye — yet another variant of the gorgeous HTC One M8.
According to a new rumor, HTC One M8 Eye will come with a 13MP Duo camera with Android 4.4.4 KitKat with Sense 6 UI on top of it. It further mentions the handset will see the light of the day next month.
The news comes from LlabTooFer, a HTC developer with a very decent track record of HTC-related information. He believes the upcoming M8 Eye will ditch the UltraPixel camera in favor of a normal 13MP camera. It’s finally time that the Taiwanese OEM has decided to let go of the UltraPixel camera, which was criticized by many people. As for the depth sensor, it should be present in the upcoming handset.
It should come with a similar set of specifications as the HTC One M8 with a few minor changes — one is the camera. Previous rumors suggest it will come with a 5.2-inch display, a little bigger compared to the original One M8, with a 1080p resolution. Under the hood, there’s a Snapdragon 801 SoC with Adreno 330 to handle graphics.
Earlier this year, the retired @evleaks also mentioned about the HTC Eye handset, saying it will launch in the fourth quarter of 2014. Let’s just take this with a grain of salt since HTC didn’t confirm anything about the alleged handset. We’ll update you if we get any other information.
