Geeky Gadgets, well me (Fatgadget), are off on our holidays for a week!
I am off to sunny Spain (well it might be raining) tomorrow, and I will be back in a week, so there won’t be as many posts as usual here on Geeky Gadgets, as I shall be sat by a swimming pool drinking beer.
Exploring Spain: A Geek’s Guide
Spain is a fantastic destination with a rich history, vibrant culture, and stunning landscapes. From the bustling streets of Barcelona to the serene beaches of Costa del Sol, there’s something for everyone. As a tech enthusiast, I’m particularly excited about exploring Spain’s tech scene. Spain has a growing tech industry, with cities like Madrid and Barcelona becoming hubs for startups and innovation. I plan to visit some tech hubs and maybe even attend a local tech meetup or two.
I am hoping to get some mobile broadband sorted out when I get there, so you should still see a few new gadgets and some cool geeky gear. Mobile broadband in Spain is quite advanced, with many options available for tourists. Companies like Movistar, Vodafone, and Orange offer prepaid SIM cards with generous data packages, making it easy to stay connected. I’ll be testing out some of these services and sharing my experiences with you.
Gadgets and Gear for Travel
Traveling as a tech enthusiast means packing the right gadgets and gear. Here are a few items I’m bringing along:
1. Portable Charger: Essential for keeping my devices powered up while on the go. I’m using the Anker PowerCore 20100, which offers a massive 20,100mAh capacity.
2. Travel Router: The TP-Link N300 is a compact travel router that can turn a wired internet connection into a wireless one, perfect for hotel rooms.
3. Noise-Canceling Headphones: Long flights and noisy environments are no match for the Sony WH-1000XM4, which offer excellent noise cancellation and sound quality.
4. E-Reader: The Kindle Paperwhite is perfect for reading by the pool without worrying about glare or battery life.
5. Smartwatch: The Apple Watch Series 6 helps me keep track of my fitness and notifications without having to pull out my phone constantly.
These gadgets will not only make my trip more enjoyable but also allow me to stay productive and connected.
Normal service will resume on Wednesday 15th April. During this time, I’ll be sharing some of my travel experiences and any cool tech finds I come across. Spain is known for its innovation in renewable energy, so I’m particularly interested in visiting some solar farms and wind energy projects. Additionally, I’ll be on the lookout for any unique gadgets that are popular in Spain but haven’t made their way to other markets yet.
While I’m away, feel free to explore some of the older posts on Geeky Gadgets. There’s a wealth of information on the latest gadgets, tech news, and reviews. If you have any suggestions for places to visit or tech to check out in Spain, leave a comment below. I’d love to hear from you!
Thank you for your understanding, and I look forward to sharing my adventures with you when I return. Hasta luego!
