If you are a hunter or just like to go hiking with your canine, you might appreciate this new tracking system from Garmin. The system is called the Astro 320 Dog Tracker and it is aimed at the hunter. The tracker has 30% more range than the previous offerings and can track for up to nine miles on flat terrain.
It can track up to ten dogs at one time, provided each has its own GPS collar. The handheld device has a color screen that can be read in direct sunlight. It also has pre-installed maps and can be fitted with 100k or 24k Topo maps as well. It will also work with Garmin BirdsEye satellite images for an extra $29.99 annually.
The system has a microSD card slot for preloaded maps and 1.7GB of onboard memory for expansion. The 320 unit alone sells for $499.99 if you already have the DC 20/30/40 series collars. The unit and a single DC40 collar will cost $649.99.
