Jeff Ross Game Director at developers Bend Studio has taken to the official PlayStation blog this week to reveal more details about the new content for the Days Gone PlayStation 4 exclusive adventure which launches tomorrow. Offering PS4 gamers a single player action-adventure, survival, horror built on the Unreal Engine 4.
“Days Gone is set in a post-apocalyptic open world, played from a third-person perspective. The player controls Deacon St. John (Sam Witwer), a former outlaw-turned-drifter and bounty hunter who prefers life on the road to wilderness encampments. The game takes place two years after a global pandemic occurred which killed almost all of humanity, and transformed millions of others into “Freakers”, mindless zombie-like creatures that are quickly evolving.”
Ross explains that whatever mood you play, Easy, Normal, or Hard you can expect a game that challenges your survival skills across a “30+ hour golden path and many more hours of open world hordes, ambush camps, infestation zones, mysterious NERO checkpoints, and dynamic events in the post-apocalyptic Oregon setting”.
With regards new DLC content that will start arriving in June 2019 Ross explains :
“Each week beginning in June, a new Bike, Horde, or Combat challenge will be deployed to test players even further. These challenges take key gameplay features of Days Gone, and twists them in unique ways to earn additional items and rewards. We’ll give you more information on the specific challenges down the road. Beating the Survival difficulty and challenges won’t be in vain — players can earn new trophies and unique bike skins to show off in photo mode to prove they’re bonafide Days Gone survivors. Are you?”
