Epic Games has today released a new update to the hugely popular Fornite game bringing with it a variety of major improvements, enhancements and new items for players to enjoy including the new Port-a-Fort which is available in the Battle Royale mode of gameplay. Epic has made a variety of data layout optimisations in order to improve load times and performance, with load times being reduced by reduced by 25-30 seconds as a result of these changes on Xbox One and around 10 seconds on PlayStation 4. “We’re excited to introduce a brand new feature for Battle Royale… Replay. With a suite of cinematic settings you can now capture your most memorable moments, highlights and cinematics. We can’t wait to see what you create. The development team now expect to see fewer issues on both the Xbox and PlayStation platforms with geometry or cosmetics failing to load in time, and FPS drops during skydiving. New Neon weapons have been added “Illuminate the battlefield and send those Husks flying high with one energising punch”. A bug on the PlayStation 4 has been squashed which affected players leaving their party after a match where they are playing with players on other platforms.
