Facebook has made another acquisition, this time it is interactive iPad book publisher Push Pop Press, and the company was responsible for publishing Al Gore’s ‘Our Choice’ on the iPad and also had a number of other titles on the works.
It looks like the other titles they were intending on publishing have now been put on hold, since they have been bought out by Facebook, although according to the blog post, Facebook doesn’t intend to start publishing ebooks.
Although Facebook isn’t planning to start publishing digital books, the ideas and technology behind Push Pop Press will be integrated with Facebook, giving people even richer ways to share their stories. With millions of people publishing to Facebook each day, we think it’s going to be a great home for Push Pop Press.
Push Pop Press hasn’t revealed exactly what Facebooks plans for the company and their technology is, but it looks like the technology will be integrated into Facebook’s various mobile applications.
