
In just under a week’s time, from February 27th, 2018 onwards, the new chapter in the new Elite Dangerous Beyond storyline will be available to play on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC systems. The Elite Dangerous Beyond season will be free for all players, and will focus on “community-requested enhancements to the overall player experience”, says developer Frontier Developments.
Starting from February 27th new contacts will become available for Elite Dangerous Horizons players as tech brokers, dealers of rare tools and technologies, give players a chance to obtain new items based on their narrative and experience. Material traders within the game will allow commanders to convert and exchange materials, making engineering and unlocking missions with tech brokers more accessible.
Frontier Developments has also made a couple of changes to the crime and punishment system within Elite Dangerous. Making improvements to the response of the game to players criminal activities with an enhancement to make the Open Play galaxy fairer and more competitive. “Another new feature puts the new Advance Tactical Response on the hunt for repeat offenders, ‘Hot Ships’ attach crimes to players’ spacecraft, and new notoriety levels increase consequences for illegal activities making the galaxy a more challenging place for veteran pilots.”
