We have featured quiet a few different electric vehicles here at Geeky Gadgets although this electric powered Ferrari 308 GTS is the coolest one to date.
The Ferrari 308 GTS is well known for being the car that Magnum PI drove and Eric Hutchison of Electric GT in San Diego decided to turn the iconic car into an EV.
Introducing the Ferrari 308 GTE. The World’s First 100% Electric Ferrari. This is the iconic revival of the 1978 Ferrari GTS – fire damaged, salvage titled, severely toasted. Totally restored, designed and converted with the first triple electric motor configuration and now on the road driving every day…. and it’s driving on solar power from our panels! A little tire smoke maybe the worst of the emissions!
Eric started out with a burned out 308 GTS that had suffered extensive fire damage and replaced the V8 engine with 465 horsepower and 330 lb-ft of torque from electric power.
The car is powered by three AC51 HPEVS electric motors and it also has 48 batteries, the original car with the V8 engine installed had around 200 horsepower when it left the factory.
