If you would like to build your very own DIY Star Wars BB-8 robot that was unveiled in the first trailer for the upcoming new Star Wars 7 movie The Force Awakens.
You are sure to be interested in this DIY BB-8 robot that uses a modified Sphere 2.0 robot ball that are available to purchase online for around $130.
The Sphero ball robot was originally an app controlled robotic ball that connects via Bluetooth to your Android, iOS or Windows devices which has now been modified to create a small copy of the BB-8 robot.
Check out the video below to see the DIY version of the BB-8 robot in action. AS well as the Sphere a few magnets have also bee used to help keep the small version of BB-8’s head in place. Its creator Christian Poulsen explains :
“A quick one day project, I wanted to build my own functioning Star Wars droid. Using a Sphero, polyurethane foam, magnets and spray paint, I made this little guy using a Sphero Bluetooth RC Ball, CNC polyurethane foam, neodymium magnets.”
