We have seen lots of different USB gadgets, with tons of different functions, some really cool, some not so cool, but this latest one has to be the coolest yet, the Beanzawave, USB powered baked beans microwave.
It may look like an April Fools joke, but the Beanzawave is the World’s smallest microwave, which measures 7.4 inches tall by 2.6 inches wide and 5.9 inches deep.
The Beanzawave is the idea of Heinz, and they are looking at producing a battery powered version as well with Lithium Ion batteries.
Heinz will put it into production if consumer feedback is positive, and it will retail for around $160, this would look great on my desk next to a USB toaster.
Innovative Design and Functionality
The Beanzawave is not just a novelty item; it represents a significant leap in portable cooking technology. Its compact size makes it incredibly convenient for office workers, students, and anyone who needs a quick meal on the go. Imagine being able to heat up a can of baked beans or a small meal right at your desk without having to leave your workspace. This could be a game-changer for those with busy schedules who often skip meals due to time constraints.
The microwave operates via USB power, which means it can be plugged into your computer or any USB port, making it highly versatile. The potential battery-powered version with Lithium Ion batteries would add even more flexibility, allowing users to take it virtually anywhere without the need for a power outlet.
Potential Impact and Market Reception
The Beanzawave could revolutionize the way we think about portable cooking appliances. If consumer feedback is positive and Heinz decides to move forward with production, it could pave the way for a new category of USB-powered kitchen gadgets. The retail price of around $160 might seem steep, but for the convenience and novelty it offers, many tech enthusiasts and busy professionals might find it worth the investment.
Moreover, the Beanzawave could inspire other companies to innovate and create similar products. Imagine a future where you have a range of USB-powered kitchen appliances, from toasters to coffee makers, all designed to make your life easier and more efficient.
