If you are in the market for a new pair of skiis then these Audi Carbon Skiis designed by Audi Concept Design Munich, that combine technology from the motorsports and winter sports industries might well be worth a look if your budget can stretch.
The Audi carbon skiis weighs just 960 grams and are constructed from a wooden core with added layers of aluminum and titanium for strength and flexibility all covered in a carbon case.
During the ski’s design process calculations are made to define precisely how many layers of carbon must be used te create the perfect carving ski. The carbon fibers are then placed at a specific angles to each other, allowing the engineers to achieve optimal stiffness with minimal torsion.
The concept was designed by Audi Concept Design Munich, then developed into a serial production product in collaboration with sportswear brand Head and the German Ski Association.
