As well as the new iOS 11 Public Beta 3, Apple also released a new public beta of macOS, in the form of macOS High Sierra Public Beta 3.
The macOS High Sierra Public Beta 3 is now available to download from Apple’s Public Beta Testing program. You need to be a registered member of the program to download the software.
New Features in macOS High Sierra Public Beta 3
The macOS High Sierra Public Beta 3 brings a range of new features to the Mac. This includes support for Apple’s new APFS file system, which is designed to be more efficient and secure than the previous HFS+ system. APFS offers improved performance, enhanced data integrity, and better space management, making it a significant upgrade for Mac users.
Another notable feature in this update is the support for external graphics cards (eGPUs). This is particularly beneficial for users who require high-performance graphics for tasks such as video editing, 3D rendering, and gaming. With eGPU support, users can easily connect an external graphics card to their Mac via Thunderbolt 3, significantly boosting the device’s graphical capabilities.
Additional Enhancements and Improvements
In addition to these major features, macOS High Sierra Public Beta 3 includes several other enhancements and improvements. The Photos app has received a significant update, with new editing tools and improved organization features. Users can now edit Live Photos, apply advanced filters, and use new editing tools like Curves and Selective Color to fine-tune their images.
Safari, Apple’s web browser, has also been updated with new features aimed at enhancing user privacy and browsing experience. The new Intelligent Tracking Prevention feature uses machine learning to identify and block tracking data, ensuring that users’ online activities remain private. Additionally, Safari now includes autoplay blocking, which prevents videos from automatically playing when you visit a website, reducing distractions and improving page load times.
The Mail app has been optimized to use less storage space, with a new feature that compresses messages and attachments. This is particularly useful for users with large mailboxes, as it helps free up valuable disk space. The Spotlight search feature has also been improved, offering more relevant and comprehensive search results.
