Apple has announced that they are expanding their LTE support for the iPhone 5 and iPad to a total of 36 more mobile carriers in a number of countries around the world, the news was announced in Apple’s recent earnings call by CEO Tim Cook.
Support for LTE on the iPhone 5 and iPad will be available in new countries like Denmark, Switzerland, the Middle East and the Philippines as well as more countries with a number of different carriers.
“Next week,” said Tim Cook, “we’re adding 36 more carriers for LTE support. These carriers will be in countries that we are not currently supporting LTE.”
Apple did not give a list of the 36 new carriers that would offer LTE support for their devices and also did not list all countries it would be expanded to.
