Specifications and Features
The handset is rumored to come with a 5.2 inch Quad HD display, which would offer a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, providing users with a crisp and clear viewing experience. The display is expected to be protected by Corning Gorilla Glass, ensuring durability and resistance to scratches.
Under the hood, the Xiaomi Mi5 is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. This chipset is known for its high performance and efficiency, making it suitable for multitasking and running demanding applications. The Snapdragon 820 also supports advanced graphics, which would enhance the gaming experience on the Mi5.
There will apparently be two versions of the handset, one with 3GB RAM and 16GB storage, and the other with 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage. This variation in RAM and storage options allows users to choose a model that best fits their needs, whether they require more memory for apps and multitasking or more storage for media and files.
Camera and Software
The new Mi5 is also rumored to come with a 13-megapixel front-facing camera and a 16-megapixel rear camera. The front camera would be ideal for selfies and video calls, while the rear camera is expected to feature advanced capabilities such as optical image stabilization (OIS), phase detection autofocus (PDAF), and dual-LED flash. These features would enable users to capture high-quality photos and videos even in low-light conditions.
In terms of software, the Mi5 will come with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box, which includes a range of new features and improvements over previous versions. Some of the key features of Android 6.0 include Google Now on Tap, which provides contextual information based on the content displayed on the screen, and Doze mode, which helps to extend battery life by putting the device into a deep sleep state when not in use.
Additionally, the Mi5 is expected to come with Xiaomi’s MIUI skin on top of Android, which offers a customized user interface and additional features such as enhanced security options, a built-in theme store, and various system optimizations.
