Designer Richard Grant sure has vision. The UK-based designer unveiled a series of speaker sets a while ago that borrowed heavily from the pantheon of sculpture. The pieces look great and the specs aren’t to be trifled with either. The bestselling item in the rare collection is the Ghanian mask, which costs upwards of a thousand dollars. Expensive, yes, but the design is exquisite. That, and if you have a couple f these in your place, people are sure to take notice and scratch their heads as well. “Nice statue. Where’d you get it?”
Seen above are the three models currently available. There’s the Ghanian design, a ‘robotic’ droid in the middle, and a wonderful bearded fellow dubbed Italian portraiture. The last one was actually still in production when Richard announced his latest work on his website. They should e available y now including a couple of new additions.
Each of the speakers ere made to deliver ‘cinema surround quality’ and rank as top notch design. How come? Simply because their exoticness, while not authentic, adds color to the household objects that inhabit a human living space. These sure aren’t the plain boring speakers you’re used to.
