If like me you sometimes find yourself fiddling with items on your desk such as pens, coins, dice or anything else you might be able to get your hands on. You may be interested in a new gadget which has been specifically designed to help you fidget in style and help focus your mind.
Watch the video below to learn more about Sphidget which combines different manufacturing techniques together with a number of different materials to create a unique spinner that combines both form and function.
Sphidget is available to back via Kickstarter from just $25 with shipping expected to take place before the end of the year throughout the US. Unfortunately those elsewhere in the world will have to wait until February 2017 for their pledges to arrive. Kevin Michael Sayers he creator of Sphidget explains little more about its design and functionality.
The purpose of Sphidget is to give the user something to occupy the wandering part of their mind. Its been proven that diverting the “fidgety” part of your mind into an easy task such as doodling or spinning a Sphidget can increase overall concentration…its also really fun.
Just like its name, Sphidget combines differing materials into a unique functional package. When I set out to design a fidget spin toy, I wanted it to be different from the others available on the market today. Most fidget spin toys are constructed from a single mass material with a bearing in the center. Sphidget is constructed by clamping a bearing and rotating mass spheres between two clamping plates. This method of construction opens up the possibility of several assembly combinations. The design will allow easy swapping of spheres so that you can choose from a variety of different materials such as Brass, Delrin, Acrylic, Steel, or any 3/4″ sphere material. This allows for fine tuning the weight and aesthetics of the Sphidget.
