Sony announced the Xperia Miro last month. When the device was announced, we didn’t have any pricing details, but the guys over at Clove have now listed the handset on their website for £26 including taxes SIM free.
The Sony Xperia Miro will come with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and it features a 3.5 inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 480 x 320 pixels.
Other specifications on the Xperia Miro include an 800MHz Qualcomm MSM7225A processor and also features a 5 megapixel camera with auto focus, an LED flash and 4x digital zoom. There is also WiFi, DLNA, and a front-facing camera for video chat.
Design and Build Quality
The Sony Xperia Miro boasts a sleek and compact design, making it easy to handle and carry around. The device measures 113 x 59.4 x 9.9 mm and weighs just 110 grams, which is quite lightweight compared to other smartphones in its category. The build quality is robust, with a plastic body that feels solid in hand. The phone is available in several color options, including black, white, pink, and gold, catering to a variety of style preferences.
Software and User Interface
Running on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, the Xperia Miro offers a smooth and user-friendly interface. The operating system is enhanced with Sony’s custom UI, which includes several unique features and apps. One notable feature is the integration of Facebook inside Xperia, allowing users to easily share and interact with their social media content directly from the phone. Additionally, the device comes pre-loaded with a range of Google services such as Gmail, Google Maps, and Google Play Store, providing access to a vast array of apps and services.
The 3.5-inch display, while not the largest, is adequate for everyday tasks such as browsing the web, checking emails, and watching videos. The resolution of 480 x 320 pixels ensures that text and images are clear and readable, although it may not be as sharp as higher-end smartphones.
Performance and Battery Life
The Xperia Miro is powered by an 800MHz Qualcomm MSM7225A processor, which, while not the most powerful, is sufficient for basic smartphone functions. Users can expect smooth performance for tasks such as web browsing, social media, and light gaming. However, more demanding applications and games may experience some lag.
The device comes with a 1500mAh battery, which provides a decent battery life for a phone of its size and specifications. Users can expect a full day of usage on a single charge with moderate use, including activities like calling, texting, browsing, and using social media apps.
Camera and Multimedia
The 5-megapixel rear camera on the Xperia Miro is equipped with auto-focus, an LED flash, and 4x digital zoom, making it capable of capturing decent photos in various lighting conditions. The camera also supports video recording, allowing users to capture memorable moments on the go. The front-facing camera, while not as high-resolution, is suitable for video chats and selfies.
In terms of multimedia, the Xperia Miro supports a range of audio and video formats, ensuring compatibility with most media files. The device also includes an FM radio and a music player with xLOUD audio technology, which enhances the sound quality for a better listening experience.
We don’t have an exact launch date for the Sony Xperia Miro as yet. As soon as we get some more information, we will let you guys know.
