Smartphone lens and accessory manufacturer Moment has this week once again taken to the Kickstarter crowdfunding website for the fourth time, to launch its new smartphone anamorphic lens. The companies latest campaign has already raised over $600,000 thanks to over 4250 backers with still 22 days remaining.
The new anamorphic lens has been created to enable smartphone photographers to create amazing cinematic video using the iPhone, Galaxy, or Pixel smartphones. Watch the demonstration video below to learn more about this unique cinematic lens, battery and gimbal system.
“Our anamorphic lens is the sexiest product we’ve ever made. This is the holy grail of filmmaking. Sweet horizontal flares and that widescreen, letterboxed look. Typically super expensive, we made anamorphic affordable. Now you can shoot like the pros, on your phone. The 1.33x anamorphic lens brings the organic look and character of 2:40:1 Cinemascope to Moment’s mobile platform. In other words, it’s like shooting a wider focal length in the horizontal direction and a longer focal length in the vertical. You can now capture a super wide-angle image with the inherent shallow depth of field and perspective of a telephoto lens.”
