Samsung Galaxy Gear came as big disappointment for users, and there are many reasons for it. Despite carrying a decent design, the smartwatch lacked many features, and came compatibility for Galaxy Note 3 at launch. It was later expanded to other devices in the Galaxy line up with the Android 4.3 update. Even the software lacked many important features, which are being released slowly in the form of software updates.
It was also rumored that Samsung is working on a sequel of the not-so-successful watch which might make an official appearance alongside Samsung Galaxy S5. According to a new rumor, Samsung is working on a fitness-tracking wristband known as Galaxy Band.
Well, there are a bunch of fitness-tracking accessories such as Fitbit, Nike Fuelband or Jawbone Up, and it’s rumored that Galaxy Band is going to offer somewhat similar features. The Galaxy Band will reportedly connect with other Galaxy devices similar to Galaxy Gear via Bluetooth, and may contain voice control commands.
According to the same report, the wristband could see the daylight at the Mobile World Congress 2014, and will hit the shelves afterwards.
Mobile World Congress 2014 is just two months away, and we’ll find out how much truth lies in all these rumors.
