In the past few weeks, we’ve seen several known personalities take on the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, which basically a fundraiser for the ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), or or Lou Gehrig’s disease.
In another marketing attempt, the Korean OEM made the Samsung Galaxy S5 take on the Ice Bucket Challenge. At the end, they challenged the iPhone 5S, HTC One M8 and the Nokia Lumia 930 to take on the challenge as well.
While it’s great to see that Samsung is donating for a good cause, many people may see it as another marketing stunt pulled off by the Korean OEM, which may not turn out to be as good as the company may have thought. I mean, they could have done something better, by asking any of their executives to take the challenge, and asking other top executives to take it. If they really wanted marketing, they could have done it with the executive holding a Samsung Galaxy S5 in their hand or in pocket, but oh well.
The video looks more like an advertisement, than a donation attempt for a good cause. Take a look at the video below, and share you thoughts about it, what do you think about Samsung’s attempt of marketing their S5.
