Samsung is expected to announce a new, smaller Galaxy S III smartphone this week. The device is rumored to be called the Samsung Galaxy S III Mini, and Samsung is expected to announce the handset on the 11th of October.
The Samsung Galaxy S III Mini is rumored to feature a 4-inch display, and now, according to the guys over at Sammobile, the device will feature a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels.
This was discovered on Samsung’s mobile WAP site, and a device with the reference GT-I8190 was discovered, which is also reported to feature an ARM11-based processor and run Android, probably Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
Expected Features and Specifications
The Samsung Galaxy S III Mini is expected to come with a variety of features that make it a compelling choice for those looking for a smaller smartphone without compromising on performance. The 4-inch display is a significant reduction from the 4.8-inch display of the original Galaxy S III, making it more pocket-friendly and easier to use with one hand. The resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, while not as high as some of the latest smartphones, should still provide a clear and vibrant display for everyday use.
The device is also rumored to feature a 5-megapixel camera, which should be sufficient for capturing decent photos and videos. While it may not compete with the high-end cameras found in flagship devices, it should be more than adequate for casual photography. Additionally, the dual-core processor is expected to provide smooth performance for most tasks, including web browsing, social media, and light gaming.
Software and User Experience
Running on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, the Samsung Galaxy S III Mini is expected to offer a smooth and responsive user experience. Jelly Bean introduced several improvements over its predecessor, including Project Butter, which aimed to make the user interface more fluid and responsive. Users can also expect features like Google Now, which provides personalized information and updates based on the user’s habits and preferences.
The inclusion of Samsung’s TouchWiz interface will likely bring additional features and customization options to the device. TouchWiz is known for its user-friendly design and added functionalities, such as Smart Stay, which keeps the screen on as long as the user is looking at it, and S Voice, Samsung’s voice-activated assistant.
We should have full details on the new Samsung Galaxy S III Mini later this week. It is also rumored to feature a 5-megapixel camera and a dual-core processor. As soon as we get more information, we will let you guys know.
