Earlier this week we heard that the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will be made official in August. Samsung has now sent out invites to a Samsung Unpacked event on the 23rd of August 2017.
The Samsung Unpacked event for the Galaxy Note 8 will take place in New York at 11 a.m EST and Samsung will live stream the event on their website.
Rumored Specifications
The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is rumored to come with a 6.3 inch display. The display on the handset is expected to be an Infinity display like the Galaxy S8. It is expected to feature a Quad HD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels.
The Note 8 will feature different processors depending on the region. One of the processors will be the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. The other processor will be one of Samsung’s own Exynos processors, both handsets are expected to feature 6GB of RAM.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is expected to come with a choice of storage options which may include 64GB, 128GB and 256GB. The handset is expected to feature a dual camera setup on the rear with two 12 megapixel cameras.
The device will also come with a new Samsung S Pen and it will feature Android 7.0 Nougat and it is expected to come with an IP68 rating for dust and waterproofing. The Note 8 will come with Samsung’s voice activated assistant, Bixby Voice which launched in the US this week.
Rumored Release Date
A Samsung will be making their new Galaxy Note 8 smartphone official on the Wednesday the 23rd of August, we would expect the company to start taking pre-order on the handset the same week. So it looks like Samsung Galaxy Note 8 pre-orders could start in Friday the 25th of August. Samsung could then launch the Galaxy Note 8 a week later on Friday the 1st of September.
This would give Samsung a nice head start on Apple and their iPhone 8. Apple are rumored to be announcing their iPhone 8 on the 6th of September. One of Samsung rumored goals for the Galaxy Note 8 was to get the handset released before Apple’s iPhone 8.
