Filmmakers searching for a universal rig handle may be interested in a new device designed by Italian Marcello Mazzilli in the form of the Power Grip. Launched via Kickstarter last month the universal rid handle is available to back with early bird pledges available from €149 or £135 with worldwide delivery expected to take place during June 2019.
As well as providing a safe ways to carry your camera equipment the Power Grip is also equipped with a 10 what light, spirit level, removable battery, interchangeable brackets, telemetry and more. “It all started from a simple sketch in Photoshop by Marcello. Creating the “perfect rig” it’s almost the “Sacred Graal” of filmmakers, and Marcello makes no exception. He always liked to experiment and test all those gimmicks that you find on the web. When he bought the new Blackmagic Pocket 4k it became clear that “the world out there” was looking for a battery that could overcome the limitations of the camera. Marcello is a fan of handled shooting and to have a “pocket” camera with a huge V-Lock battery was not what he had in mind.”
