Yesterday we heard about the issue on Pokemon GO with peoples Google Account on iOS and now the developers of the game have released a software update to fix the issue.
The updated version of Pokemon GO for the iPhone and iPad also comes with a number of other bug fixes. You can see what is included in the update below.
WHAT’S NEW on 1.0.1
Thank you for your incredible response and support of Pokémon GO! We are working hard to improve the experience for everyone. This update focuses on making Pokémon GO more stable with the following improvements:
– Trainers do not to have to enter their username and password repeatedly after a force log out
– Added stability to Pokémon Trainer Club account log-in process
– Resolved issues causing crashes
– Fixed Google account scope
Addressing the Google Account Issue
The Google account issue on iOS was a significant concern for many players. When Pokémon GO initially launched, users discovered that the game requested full access to their Google accounts, which raised privacy and security concerns. This meant that the app could potentially access users’ emails, Google Drive documents, and other sensitive information. The developers quickly acknowledged the problem and assured users that this was not their intention. The latest update rectifies this by limiting the scope of access to only basic profile information, such as user ID and email address.
Additional Bug Fixes and Improvements
Beyond addressing the Google account issue, the update brings several other enhancements to improve the overall gameplay experience. One of the most notable fixes is the resolution of the force log out problem. Previously, many players found themselves repeatedly entering their username and password, which was both frustrating and time-consuming. With this update, trainers can now enjoy a more seamless login experience.
The stability of the Pokémon Trainer Club account log-in process has also been improved. Many players who opted to use the Pokémon Trainer Club for their accounts faced frequent log-in issues, which hindered their ability to play the game smoothly. This update aims to provide a more reliable log-in experience for these users.
Crashes were another common issue that players encountered, especially during gameplay. The developers have worked diligently to identify and resolve the root causes of these crashes, ensuring a more stable and enjoyable experience for all players.
Future Updates and Community Feedback
The developers of Pokémon GO have shown a strong commitment to listening to community feedback and making necessary adjustments. This update is just one of many that players can expect as the game continues to evolve. Future updates are likely to bring new features, events, and further improvements to enhance the gameplay experience.
For example, players have been vocal about wanting more Pokémon to be added to the game, as well as new gameplay mechanics such as trading and battling with friends. The developers have hinted at these features being in the pipeline, and players are eagerly awaiting their arrival.
Additionally, the game’s developers have been actively engaging with the community through social media and other platforms. This open line of communication helps ensure that player concerns are addressed promptly and that the game continues to meet the expectations of its dedicated fanbase.
