
PlayStation gamers eagerly awaiting the launch of the new PlayStation VR hardware that will be launching early in 2016. Might be interested to know that during an interview Sony Entertainment’s CEO Andrew House, hinted that the cost of the new hardware would be in line with the launch prices of the original PS4.
Indicating that the new virtual reality headset for the Sony PlayStation console could be priced at around $400 in the US and approximately £350 within the UK. The launch prices that the PlayStation 4 was originally priced at during its launch back in 2013.
Until recently the PlayStation virtual reality hardware was known as Project Morpheus until it was announced by Atsushi Morita, president of Sony Computer Entertainment Japan, at Sony’s Tokyo Game Show 2015 press conference the new hardware would be rebranded as the PlayStation VR.
At launch the new PlayStation VR hardware will support 10 PlayStation games when it launches in early 2016 and will be competing with the likes of the new HTC Vive and Oculus Rift hardware that will also be launching early next year. Although a limited number of HTC Vive headsets are expected to be made available before the end of the year.
