Earlier today we heard that Fujitsu would be launching some of its smartphones in Europe, and now Panasonic has announced its first Android smartphone for Europe, the Panasonic Eluga.
The Panasonic Eluga features a 4.3 inch qHD multi-touch OLED display with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels, and it comes with Google Android OS, although Panasonic haven’t revealed which version as yet, let’s hope it is Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
Design and Build Quality
The Panasonic Eluga is designed to be sleek and stylish, with a slim profile that measures just 7.8mm in thickness. The device is also lightweight, weighing in at only 103 grams, making it one of the lighter smartphones available on the market. The Eluga is also dust and water-resistant, with an IP57 certification, which means it can withstand immersion in water up to 1 meter for 30 minutes. This makes it a durable option for those who need a phone that can handle the elements.
Features and Specifications
The device will also come with Near Field Communications (NFC), which allows for easy sharing of data between devices and can be used for mobile payments. Unfortunately, we don’t have any information on what processor it will come with and there are no details on the camera as yet. However, given Panasonic’s history of producing high-quality electronics, we can expect the Eluga to come with a capable processor and a decent camera.
In addition to NFC, the Eluga is expected to come with a range of other features, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. The device will also likely come with a range of sensors, including an accelerometer, gyroscope, and proximity sensor. These features will make the Eluga a versatile device that can be used for a range of different tasks.
We can expect to see more details on the Panasonic Eluga at MWC 2012 next week, as soon as we get some more information on Panasonic’s first Android device for Europe we will let you guys know.
The Panasonic Eluga is an exciting new addition to the European smartphone market, and it will be interesting to see how it compares to other devices in its class. With its sleek design, durable build, and range of features, the Eluga has the potential to be a popular choice for consumers looking for a high-quality smartphone.
