The Nintendo 3Ds recently went on sale in Japan, and just 24 hours after the 3DS went on sale it has sold out. Nintendo shipped out a total of 400,000 units of the 3Ds to retailers in Japan.
In the first 24 hours since the 3DS went on sale in Japan, it has completely sold out with Nintendo selling all of the 400,000 units, so gamers will have to wait a while to get their hands on a 3DS in Japan.
The Nintendo 3DS will go on sale in Europe on the 25th of March and in the US on the 26th of March it will be interesting to see if it is as popular in the US and Europe.
As a reminder on the Nintendo 3DS specifications it comes with two displays, one of which is a 3D display, the top one and it is a 3.5 inch display with a resolution of 800 x 240 pixels. The 3D works without the need for 3D glasses, and from the 800 x 240 pixel display 400 of the pixels are allocated to each eye.
The second display is a 3 inch display with a resolution 320 x 240 pixels. processing comes from two 266MHz ARM11 processors, a PICA200 133MHZ GPU by DMP, and 64MB of RAM, plus 4MB of video RAM.
