NEC has announced that it is added a new high-end LCD display to its desktop display line. The screen measures 23-inches and is model number EA234WMi. The display is LED backlit and promises a slimmer profile and lighter weight along with increased power savings compared to older generation monitors.
The display supports NEC ControlSync technology allowing users to control six of the screens in a multi-monitor configuration. That technology allows one display to be set as the master unit and allows it to control performance attributes of the other screens through one set of monitor controls.
The 23-inch screen has an aspect ratio of 16:9 and viewing angles of 178-degrees vertical and horizontal. The native resolution for the screen is 1920 x 1080, so it supports full HD resolution. The screen is rated for 250 cd/m2 brightness and has a 25,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. That contrast ratio works out to 1000:1 typically.
The screen is also fitted to an ergonomic adjustable stand with 130 mm of height adjust, tilt, swivel, and pivot capabilities. Connectivity options include DisplayPort, HDMI, DVI-The, and VGA d-sub. The screen also has four USB ports and an integrated headphone jack. The monitor will be available this month for $269.
