The Motorola Moto E4 has been available with MetroPCS since last year and now T-Mobile are also launching the handset on their main network.
The handset is now available from T-Mobile with a $7 up front payment and then $7 a month over 24 months. Or the device can be purchased outright for $175.
As a reminder the device comes with a 5.5 inch display that features a HD resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels.
The handset features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 417 processor and comes with 2GB of RAM. There is also 16GB of included storage and a microSD card slot for extra storage.
The device has front and rear cameras, on the front of the handset there is a 5 megapixel camera for Selfies and on the back of the device there is an 8 megapixel camera for photos and videos. The handset also comes with a 2800 mAh battery and Android 7.1.1 Nougat.
Performance and Usability
The Motorola Moto E4 is designed to offer a balanced performance for everyday tasks. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 417 processor, while not the most powerful on the market, is sufficient for handling basic applications, web browsing, and social media. The 2GB of RAM ensures that the device can manage multitasking to a reasonable extent, although it may struggle with more demanding applications or games.
The 16GB of internal storage provides a decent amount of space for apps, photos, and videos. However, for users who require more storage, the microSD card slot is a valuable addition, allowing for expandable storage up to 128GB. This feature is particularly useful for those who like to store a large number of media files or download multiple apps.
Camera Capabilities
The camera setup on the Moto E4 is quite basic but functional. The 5-megapixel front camera is adequate for selfies and video calls, offering decent image quality in good lighting conditions. However, it may struggle in low-light environments, producing grainy or blurry images.
The 8-megapixel rear camera is suitable for casual photography. It can capture reasonably detailed photos and videos, making it a good option for everyday use. The camera app includes basic features such as HDR, panorama, and various shooting modes, which can enhance the overall photography experience.
Battery Life and Software
One of the standout features of the Moto E4 is its 2800 mAh battery. Given the device’s modest hardware specifications, the battery life is quite impressive. Users can expect a full day of usage on a single charge, including activities such as web browsing, social media, and light gaming. The device also supports fast charging, which is a convenient feature for users who are always on the go.
The Moto E4 runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat, which, while not the latest version of Android, still offers a smooth and user-friendly experience. The software includes various customization options and features such as split-screen multitasking, which allows users to run two apps simultaneously. Additionally, the device comes with minimal bloatware, ensuring that users have more storage space and a cleaner interface.
Overall, the Motorola Moto E4 is a solid budget smartphone that offers good value for money. Its combination of a decent display, adequate performance, expandable storage, and reliable battery life makes it a suitable choice for users looking for an affordable device for everyday use. While it may not have the high-end features of more expensive smartphones, it provides a satisfactory experience for its price range.
For those interested in purchasing the Moto E4, it is now available from T-Mobile with flexible payment options. Whether you choose to pay upfront or opt for the monthly payment plan, the Moto E4 is a cost-effective option that delivers essential smartphone features without breaking the bank.
