We recently heard that LG would be adding some new smartphones to their K Series range, one of these is the new LG K4.
Now the LG K4 has been listed on LG’s website in Russia and we now have some specifications on this new handset.
Display and Performance
The device will come with a 4.5 inch display with an FWVGA resolution of 854 x 480 pixels. While this resolution might seem modest compared to today’s high-definition screens, it is quite adequate for everyday tasks such as browsing the web, checking emails, and using social media. The compact size of the display also makes the phone easy to handle and operate with one hand.
The handset will be powered by a quad-core 1GHz MediaTek processor. MediaTek processors are known for their balance of performance and efficiency, making them a popular choice for budget-friendly smartphones. The 1GHz speed should be sufficient for basic multitasking and running standard applications smoothly. The device will come with 1GB of RAM, which, while not large by today’s standards, should be enough for light users who do not run too many apps simultaneously.
Storage and Camera Features
Other specifications on the device will include 8GB of built-in storage. This amount of storage is relatively low, but the handset compensates for this with a microSD card slot for expansion. Users can easily add more storage to accommodate their photos, videos, and apps. This feature is particularly useful for those who like to keep a lot of media on their devices without relying on cloud storage.
The handset will also come with dual cameras. There will be a 2-megapixel camera on the front for video chat. While 2 megapixels might not deliver the sharpest selfies, it is adequate for video calls and basic photography needs. On the back, there will be a 5-megapixel camera with an LED flash. This rear camera should be capable of capturing decent photos in good lighting conditions. The LED flash will help improve photo quality in low-light environments, making it a versatile option for casual photographers.
Additional Features and Connectivity
The LG K4 will also come with a dual SIM card slot, which is a valuable feature for users who need to manage two phone numbers, such as one for personal use and one for work. This feature is particularly popular in regions where people often use multiple SIM cards to take advantage of different carrier plans.
There is also a 1940 mAh battery, which should provide enough power to get through a day of moderate use. While not the largest battery on the market, the efficient processor and modest display resolution should help conserve battery life.
In terms of connectivity, the LG K4 includes WiFi, Bluetooth, and 4G LTE. The inclusion of 4G LTE ensures that users can enjoy fast internet speeds for streaming, downloading, and browsing. Bluetooth support allows for easy pairing with wireless accessories such as headphones and speakers.
As yet, there are no details on when the device will be made available. However, given its listing on LG’s Russian website, it is likely that the release is imminent. The LG K4 appears to be a solid entry-level smartphone that offers essential features at an affordable price point. It is designed to meet the needs of users who require a reliable device for everyday tasks without the high cost associated with flagship models.
