LG has been a little slow when it comes to Android updates. The company’s flagship LG G2 recently received the update in certain regions.
According to new reports, a selected number of users have started getting the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update on their LG G Pad 8.3. The wait has been quite a long one since the device was launched with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean out of the box.
The update is rolling out in various parts of Europe as well as the US. The reports come from Android Central forums where users are reporting about the magical over-the-air notification on their tablets. The latest update is sized at around 300MB and brings a number of new features on board, including all the goodies that come with Android 4.4 KitKat such as improved SMS capabilities and the ability to select Hangouts as the default app, restyled navigation bars, as well as LG Knock Code feature and much more.
The updates usually roll out in phases so users might have to wait a little bit for the update to arrive. If you’re impatient, you can manually check for the update from the Settings app. Let us know if you’ve received the update.
