Car manufacturer Lexus has unveiled a new virtual reality simulator they have created using the awesome Oculus Rift VR headset to provide users with a VR experience to test drive the new Lexus RC F automobile.
Using the Oculus Rift Development Kit 2 which is currently available for developers to purchase, Lexus has created the simulator as part of the launch Lexus RC and RC F.
The VR simulator includes genuine RC F elements such as a physical steering wheel and foot pedals for users in the simulator to control and took Lexus engineers 8 weeks to build providing a 360 degree VR environment and race track for users to enjoy. Check out the video below to see it in action.
The Lexus virtual reality experience will be available to try during the 2014 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in Monterey, California as well as the venues listed below. Lexus explains:
