Swedish home furnishing manufacturer IKEA has partnered with UNYQ and e-sports company Area Academy, to create a very unusual product line specifically designed for gamers offering a range of 3D printed products. The first gaming accessories to be offered by IKEA include a wrist brace, textured key caps for better grip, and a mouse bungee, which keeps cords out of the way while you play.
“UNYQ is pleased to announce the launch of three new personalised products for the global gaming community in collaboration with the Swedish furniture giant IKEA. The products are part of IKEA and UNYQ’s broader collection titled UPPKOPPLA, meaning ‘online’, and will comprise a series of products to improve the gaming experience and surrounding life at home. UNYQ unveiled these new products today at IKEA’s annual Democratic Design Day in Älmhult, southern Sweden.”
At the current time IKEA as only released a few press photos of just a few of the gaming accessories that it hopes to offer providing a quick look at the key caps, mouse bungee, and wrist band. Although expect more to be made available in the form of desk supports, chairs, and tables all of which are expected to be made available next year during 2020 as part of the Uppkoppla line.
