A new gardening sensor has been created called Grüt, to help children understand the importance of food, as well as allowing them to grow and monitor their crops health using a companion smartphone application.
The Grüt sensor provides information on the plan’s environment and monitors how much light, water as well as providing tips and tasks necessary to care for the growth of the crop.
Watch the video below to learn more from the team of developers based in Amsterdam who have created Grüt and have now taken to Kickstarter to raise the funds necessary to take their design into manufacture.
“Grüt is a kit that helps children grow their own crops. The kit includes a set of sensors and an app. The sensors measure the condition (light, temperature and soil moisture) of the plant. This information is sent to an app that provides feedback to the kids, in the form of a virtual buddy.”
Visit the Kickstarter website to make a pledge to be one of the first to own a Grüt gardening sensor, by making a pledge from just €22.
