Google launched their Pixel 3a smartphone back in May and the launch of the handset has helped the company increase sales of their Pixel smartphones significantly.
They recently announced their Q2 earnings and they also revealed some information on sales of their smartphones. The Pixel 3a helped Google double sales of their Pixel handsets in Q2.
With the launch of the Pixel 3a in May, overall Pixel unit sales in Q2 grew more than 2x year-over-year. In addition to Verizon and the Google Store, we successfully expanded our distribution to T-Mobile, Sprint, US Cellular, Spectrum Mobile, and additional partners, which has greatly diversified our sales footprint in the US.
The handset was exclusive to Verizon but it is now available with more of the major carrier in the US, this has also helped boost sales of the device. Google are also expected to launch their Google Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL smartphones this year, which should also boost sales of their smartphones.
