Garmin have launched a new addition to their range of fitness watches in the form of the Garmin Swim. Which as its name might suggest has been designed to track water based activities and workouts.
The Garmin Swim is equipped with an accelerometer that builds on the technology first brought to market by Garmin in their FR910XT sports watch. The Garmin Swim has been created to measure your track stroke type, stroke count, distance, pace, lengths and much more.
Once the distances and calculations have been made the Garmin Swim then uploads your data to the web for you to view online. The Garmin Swim watch features 6 buttons allowing you to program in your pools length and other vital stats. Dan Bartel, Garmin’s vice president of worldwide sales explains:
“Garmin Swim will quickly replace the log books and journals so many swimmers have come to rely on for tracking their progress,” said . “At a glance, swimmers will know their time, distance, pace and be able to wear this watch as an everyday timepiece, allwithout having to worry about charging it.”
The Garmin Swim is the first training watch designed specifically for swimmers and is now available to purchase for around $150. A full in depth review can be found over on the DC Rainmaker website
