If like me you sometimes neglect to remember to water your house plants you may be interested in a smart watering system aptly named Flora. Launched via Kickstarter this week the new smart watering system offers a cost-effective way to look after your house plans using a companion smartphone application. Flora’s AI sensors measure the moisture level near the roots of the plants and monitor its moisture content and more.
The system is available in three different sizes depending on your plant size, 6, 8 and 12 inches for small, medium and large sizes respectively. Flora is now available to back with early bird pledges £15 and if all proceeds smoothly worldwide shipping is expected to take place during October 2019. The development team based in Singapore explain a little more about the inspiration behind the Flora smart watering system for plants.
“Flora was born out of pain points and the stress involved in taking care of plants. Plant owners who travel often need to rely on DIY solutions, store-bought plant watering systems or their neighbours. These plant watering systems may not be optimal as they can stress out plants with overwatering and underwatering– and may not be the most time efficient. In comparison, Flora conserves water on a daily or weekly basis, allowing owners to raise the greenest plants while saving water. The broader vision is to help the world conserve water, one Flora at a time.”
