Samsung have announced that they have teamed up with BMW to provide a remote function for the BMW i3 with their Samsung Galaxy Gear smartwatch.
The Samsung Galaxy Gear will connect to the BMW i3 and provide vehicle information on the BMW i3, which will include the battery status of the vehicle, including the range, plus more.
Samsung and BMW have collaborated to create a Samsung Galaxy Gear showcase specifically designed for the BMW i Remote application. The Samsung Galaxy Gear extends the smartphone experience to the user’s wrist giving real time updates and convenient access to their car. Users can view important information on the Galaxy Gear without having to take their smartphone out of their pocket or unlock a screen.
You will also be able to check the status of the doors and windows on the BMW i3 with the Samsung Galaxy Gear, and also find out information about servicing and inspection needs.
On top of that you will be able to use the Samsung Galaxy Gear to remotely set the interior temperature of the BMW i3 before getting inside the vehicle.
