Arlo Pro

After announcing the incoming support for Apple HomeKit back in CES 2019 in January of this year home security manufacturer Arlo has this week announced the public availability of the HomeKit service on its Pro and Pro 2 smart cameras.

If you own one of the companies Arlo Base Station VMB4000 or Arlo Base Station VMB4500 and update should be available via the Arlo iOS application allowing you to enable HomeKit support for your devices. Once installed you will be able to access live video streams directly from the Apple Home application and places your home security cameras alongside your other HomeKit accessories removing the need to visit the Arlo application.

Apple is also preparing to roll out their new iOS 13 mobile operating system which will add a new HomeKit Secure Video functionality that records your smart camera video and uploads it to iCloud. Unfortunately this feature is not part of the standard HomeKit application and Arlo has not announced any plans to become one of the manufacturers who support this functionality.

No news on Apple HomeKit support for the Arlo Ultra 4K home security camera has been announced as yet by Arlo the sooner more information becomes available we will keep you in the loop as always.
