Archos have this week unveiled a new addition to their range of Android laptops with the launch of the Archos ArcBook which is priced at just $170.
The new Archos ArcBook laptop is equipped with a 10 inch capacitive touchscreen display, offering users a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels and comes supplied running Google’s Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system.
Performance and Specifications
Archos has powered their new ArcBook Android laptop using a 1.2 GHz Rockchip RK3168 ARM Cortex-A9 dual-core processor supported by 1GB of RAM. This combination provides a decent performance for basic tasks such as web browsing, document editing, and media playback. While it may not be suitable for heavy multitasking or high-end gaming, it is more than capable for everyday use.
There is also 8GB of internal storage, which might seem limited by today’s standards, but the inclusion of a microSD card slot allows for further expansion when required. Users can easily add up to 64GB of additional storage, making it convenient to store more apps, photos, and videos.
Additional Features and Connectivity
Other features of the latest Android laptop to be added to the Archos range include a front-facing web cam with a built-in microphone, making it suitable for video calls and online meetings. The stereo speakers provide decent audio quality for media consumption, and the 3.5 mm audio jack allows users to connect their favorite headphones or external speakers.
The Archos ArcBook Android laptop measures 10.7 x 7.1 x 0.87 inches in size and weighs 2.8lbs, making it highly portable and easy to carry around. It is equipped with wireless connectivity, including Wi-Fi, which ensures that users can stay connected to the internet wherever they go. The laptop also features USB ports for connecting external devices such as flash drives, keyboards, and mice.
The Archos ArcBook will be available in June 2014 priced at €149.99, £139.99 or $169.99. For more information on the new Archos ArcBook jump over to the Liliputing for details.
