Qualcomm CEO Steve Mollenkopf recently said that he expected Apple to settle our of court on their lawsuit, it turns out this may not be the case.
Qualcomm is suing Apple for licensing fees and now Apple’s manufacturing partners have joined up with Apple in a countersuit against Qualcomm.
Apple and its manufacturing partners like Compal Electronics Inc., Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. and other companies are alleging that Qualcomm are asking for higher licensing fees than normal.
Qualcomm has filed more lawsuits against Apple, with new ones being filed in Germany, the company is also looking to stop Apple importing the iPhone into the US. They are also looking to halt sales of the iPhone in Germany.
Hopefully the two companies will be able to come to an amicable agreement before this reaches the courts, although at the moment it does not look like this is going to happen.
